The first time I ever saw one was in Elf, in the scene where Buddy is first leaving the north pole to find his dad. I think it might have been in the first 8 minutes of the movie. I don't know what was wrong with us, but I remember watching it with Jeff and us thinking that it was ridiculously funny. I guess there's still something wrong with me because I still think its funny.
Anyways, I have no idea how I even stumbled on this article in the first place but it turns out that Narwhals are still around!! I thought they were extinct or something but apparently, they're still very much alive and swimming around Canada and Greenland. They may not look exactly like Mr. Narwhal from Elf but they're still pretty cute to me. Also, I may or may not have spent a ridiculous amount of time looking them up and watching videos of them yesterday...probably not a good use of my time but whatever.
So now taking a cruise to Canada/Greenland is officially on my bucket list!!
Who's with me?!?!
Also, fun fact: the tusk/horn is really the whale's left tooth that grows out of it's upper jaw.
