And when we were leaving, I saw this kid holding an armadillo and I wanted to pet it so badly but I couldn't cause he wanted money for it and I didn't have any single bills. Apparently they eat that here but the kid promised me that he wouldn't eat Kevin (his pet armadillo) but who knows. Ummm I'm probably going to try it if I come across it, not gonna lie...especially cause I didn't pet it (but I'll probably wait for you, James).
And then back at the school, I had a watermelon smoothie and KFC again (yummm spicy and hot) at the shopping center. And we went to our Back to School BBQ where I had this melon pasta which was so awesome. It had like little pieces of cantaloupe and honeydew and it was sweet and nice. I really want to get the recipe for that. It was cold pasta, not hot so it's not as gross as it sounds haha. And again, we didn't make it to the beach cause it was raining so I'm NOT tan at all. I've only been to the beach like 3x at the most. It's sad really.
Oh and Lauren, my friend Brian wanted to know where I got my silly bands and wanted one but I didn't give it to him because you gave it to me. He asked if my bf gave it to me and I said...um noooo but my gf did hahah but I explained it to him so that he wouldn't think I was a weirdo.
DAY 6 (08/15/10): Today we had our last day of orientation and we just had to meet the deans of the departments and such and it was all pretty straight forward. I'm getting really nervous for my classes and how my life is literally going to be 100% consumed with studying for the next couple of years of my life. But they keep saying that all the med students walk around all angry and with a scowl on their faces no matter what they're doing so I figure that I must belong here right? haha. But seriously they said that it really does help having a positive attitude so I'm really going to try not to be suicidal and depressed. At least this time around of hell and insane studying, I'll be with everyone else who is in the same boat as I am and not like during my MCATs when it was just me and Valerie suffering and all our friends partying and going out having fun. So if I cry, I'm sure I won't be the only one doing so at that time so I think I'll be ok emotionally this time. Although, James will still probably get the worst. haha
Moving on, after that orientation, I went to the orientation bazaar where the local restaurants and scuba/snorkelling people came out to promote their stuff and where we could sign up for campus clubs. I signed up for the surgery club so hopefully I'll be learning how to suture things very soon but I missed the Pediatrics club so I'll have to track them down somehow. And it was all free food so I brought some tupperware (which was a good suggestion on James' part) and brought home food to last me at least two dinners because I do take forever to eat my stuff.
Andddd now I'm here, finishing up this blog that took me like 4 days to finish. My classes start at 8am tomorrow so I'll have to leave for class at least at 7:30 at the latest. Yay for early mornings...every day. At least it's better than going to work BY 7.
Oh and I almost fell into a ditch because I saw some fish in there and I was stupidly excited about it. I'm dumb but thank god I didn't fall in. Two people already broke/sprained their legs and one guy had to go to the hospital for an infected mosquito bite - so again, thank you Lillian and Isabel for my going away present of bug spray and stuff. I wish I could say that I have used the sun tan lotion for beach time buttt I can't. Maybe after finals...haha
The album of all the pictures are on the right of this blog. I like comments. You should subscribe to me. I don't know what that does but there is a thing that says I don't have any followers. Sad
That is all.
